VLOG 02 | VISITING AN ART GALLERY AND DAY DRINKING IN CAPE TOWN

I’m continuing with the vlogs and this time I’m taking you on a fun day with my now retired Drunk Me.

This vlog is about a very very very drunk day in Cape Town in May of 2018. I thought I lost these files but I somehow managed to find the footage and it was honestly comedic gold and I had to share.

Fading away

The basic synopsis is that on a visit to my now ex-boyfriend, I drank a few bottles of free wine at the SMAC Gallery exhibit opening and then got lit off my ass on free flowing Greygoose White Russians at the now shut down Corner Store CPT. I’m actually still highly fucking upset about losing this gem of South African street culture so I guess this is my way of archiving it, you know?

In this one, you get to experience my taste in art, my sense of humour and drunk me in one 6 minute vlog! As I said, this is old footage from May 2018 so please don’t ask me too many details about the cool stuff – but I can point you in the direction of some of the brands mentioned.

VLOG 01 | The Creative Womxn Hookup

Well, here we go! First proper post on the new channel and blog. A few weeks ago I was so stuck mentally, emotionally and spiritually that I was 78 meters below sea level within m’gowo! Pressing the Publish button on this one is already the biggest achievement for me because it is literally step one on a whole new chapter and that’s exciting.

My first vlog is a bit of a quickie but still a goodie! This is a short little vlog about when I got to speak at the Creative Women Hookup earlier this year in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The CWHU is a small event hosted by emerging female-focused platforms, Melenial Magazine and Twenty and Co. The event happens about 4x a year, each time inviting some inspiring Womxn to come speak about their work. I was obviously so honoured to be chosen to speak with women who I’ve personally followed since high school!

The theme for the day was the “Business of Content Creation” and I got to speak on a panel with Caron Williams. We got to speak about the realities of profiting off of your own content in the South African context today. I didn’t manage to get a lot of footage because it was also a day where I was within the pits of mihlolo but I still had a lovely time! Best part was how the Melenial team decided to surprise Sunshine and me with birthday cakes!
